Chocolate cupcakes

I love baking. For me it is almost therapeutic. Its a lot like art for me. To be able to create something so pretty from sugar, flour and eggs.


Even the humble cupcake has so many options. From frostings to sprinkles to colours and flavours.
You can actually go wild or go right to the opposite end of the spectrum and stay simple and elegant. 


I've tried to stay neutral here with these deliciously moist chocolate cupcakes.


They are topped with a rosette swirl of Swiss Meringue Buttercream with flat sugar sprinkles in purple, white, pink and blue. Some of them are left plain to show of the beauty and simplicity of the rosette with just a sugar paste leaf or two to add the finishing touch.
