When you think of quilled jewellery, one of the first thoughts that pop into your head may be WHY?
Why would you want to wear paper?
1- It's lightweight. So even though you may be wearing some heavy looking, very Indian style earrings, they won't be too heavy on your lobes.
2- Quilled jewellery is inexpensive. So you can actually get more for your moneys worth.
3- They're eye-catching. The unique designs of quilled earrings and the fact that each one is handmade and not manufactured in a large factory truly makes them one of a kind.
Now quilled earrings may not have a lot of bling for club wear or decked out in precious and semiprecious stones for formal occasions, but I think they're just perfect for daily wear and work wear - where you want to wear something gorgeous but you don't want it to take the focus away from what you might be presenting at work.
And if you live in the tropics like do, you don't even have to worry about wearing them during the monsoons. I always give my handmade earrings a waterproof coat. Now that doesn't mean you can go jump in a pool with them on. But if they get wet in one of our awful rainy showers, they'll dry up just fine and be ready to be worn again.
